But first you need to know that we are realtors, and belong to the multiple listing services so that we have access to every listing in the area. 

But as a company policy, we've chosen to represent only buyers in every real estate transaction. So our company takes no listings and never represents sellers... defined as "exclusive buyer representation." 

We believe that exclusive representation is the only possible pathway to unbounded buyer advocacy, the only way we can consistently empower buyers to make the wisest possible home buying decisions, confident they've had an agent and an agency exclusively representing their best interests throughout the home buying process. 

We deliver "Client Level Service", Without Exception...a level of service higher than the laws of the State of Illinois and most other states require, all according to The Common Law of Agency.  

It changes our legal relationship to the same as that between a lawyer and his or her client; lawyers of course have learned a long time ago that they can't represent more than one party in a transaction. So now, instead of a customer, the buyer becomes a client, under our protection. As a legal agent, we become a consultant to the buying process instead of a salesperson, an important distinction. 

So when you buy through this agency, it's like having a consultant at your side throughout the process; exclusively guarding your interests, without added costs. 

The choice of a realty firm is probably the single most important decision buyers make. "Home Buyers Relo" was started in early 1991 by Merrill and Paul Ottwein. While Illinois grew in prominence as a quality St. Louis area suburb, they first operated Century 21 and Coldwell Banker franchises, emphasizing relocations. Disturbed with traditional real estate practice where buyers were simply unrepresented, they became early advocates of buyer brokerage. Recognizing the strong relationship with relocations, they opened this 1st, and still only such specialized agency in SW Illinois.
